This is the definitive 4 CD set of Marvin Gaye's work. The 70 page book that comes with the set is full of history, commentary and photos. NOTE: If you receive one of these sets, be sure to check all the CDs -- on my set, disc one only comes out the right channel -- one speaker mono.(The rest of the CDs are fine)
Opened for Marvin once in my past. Great o have most of his songs dating back when.
WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT A COLLECTION SONGS FROM ONE OF THE GREATEST SOUL AND R&B ARTISTS EVER. A MAN WHO, YOU COULD HEAR ALL THE PASSION BURNING UP IN HIS SOUL WHEN HE SANG. THIS COLLECTION IS THE MOST COMPLETE I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR MARVIN GAYE. AFTER BUYING THIS ONE YOU NEED NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER.
Great singer, great selections, great recordings BUT many of the old songs are mono recordings. Wish I had read the fine print before buying.
This is such a great box set that within 4 discs generously samples chronologically each of Mavin Gayes albums with a few extras thrown in as well. I still enjoy listening to it after more than ten years. Such a loss to not have Mr. Gaye with us anymore.
